In 2010 Chris Reitz started to conquer the stages in Luxembourg and the Greater Region with his electric violin. As a member of the local band Anthem of the Sun he developed a true passion for music. In 2013 his own solo project All Reitz Reserved was born. The versatile opportunities of his extraordinary instrument are combined with various effects in order to create spaced out sound experiments. He likes to cross a multitude of sonic spheres including elements from Pop, Blues, Rock to Dubsteb.

An Apple A Day is a Metal Band from Luxembourg, formed in 2009 by Alex Marx (Drums), Raph Erpelding (Guitar) and Eric Küntzinger (Bass). Later, Kevin Hinna (Guitar) and Yann Dalscheid (Vocals) joined the Band. Together they create a mixture of heaviness and atmosphere, with the purpose to rock the stage. Modern and old school metal fans should find access to this combination.
After a Demo (Fisherman´s Friend), released in 2010, they recorded their first Ep called “Fall of Thera“ in 2012. The title refers to a story of the Greek mythology in which Mother Nature proves her dominance over mankind. The 5 songs of the Ep deal with the human race’s urge for self-destruction. The statements made in the Lyrics of the EP are intended as a constructive suggestion for a paradigm shift in human behavior.
They already shared the stage with some international bands like DevilDriver, Emmure, Subway to Sally, The Ghost Inside, Betraying the Martyrs, Oh Sleeper and We Butter The Bread With Butter and represented Luxembourg on Wacken Open Air 2013 .

She’s is from Frankfurt, called Linda Bender and plays guitar, drums, marimba and percussion. He hails from Mannheim, named Chris Schillinger and plays guitar, bass, accordion and percussion. Together they’re Bender & Schillinger. Influenced by Wallis Bird, Frank Turner and Dota Kehr they founded the duo in Mainz back in 2010.
They are surprising with their atmospheric and sophisticated sounds as well as the variety of different instruments used. In a symbolic duo of voices they sing in German and English without losing the beauty of the melody. They describe their style as “singer-songwriter plus” The love to debunk the cliché that songwriter music belongs around a camp fire and not on the stage!

Chris Schillinger: Vocals, Guitar
■ The History
Founded in 2010, Birdbones had an extensive presence throughout Luxembourg in 2011. They released their first single “Every Single One of Us” which was frequently played on the radio, as well as a video clip. They played a dense concert tour and participated in different workshops to improve their songwriting and stage performance. There were some line-up changes in 2012, which led to the introduction of the new Amsterdam-based singer Romy. They then intensely worked on their first album entitled “Phoenix”, a name reflecting the band’s own story. With this first album, Birdbones are planning to spread their wings and cross the borders to reach new grounds.
■ The Sound
Colourful harmonies, haunting melodies, emotional lyrics and solid, pulsating grooves are the key aspects of Birdbones’ characteristic sound. Although, at first sight, rock appears to be a prevalent element, it’s difficult to describe their music with one specific style. They work with a range of different genres, reaching from progressive to world music.

drums and guitar. Before we started the band, we had been jamming together, sharing the same
passion for loud and unconventional music, bla bla bla…After a year of rehearsing we finally
played our first show on 7th April 2014 followed by a couple of shows in Luxembourg at such
places as the Café Rocas, the Eat Your Feet Festival or the Kolla Festival. During the winter
Zeepunkt, our bassist, made his first ever attempt at recording and mixing a band in DIY Fashion
with very basic equipment. We are going to present to you the result of this first Cassée Record
on the 2nd of May 2015. We play everywhere, we don’t care where! (we only need electricity)
After practicing his craft for more than fifteen years in Luxembourg’s music scene as a singer, songwriter and guitarist, Chris broke into the local rock scene in 2007 with his debut EP “Open End”. “Open End” featured no less than three hit singles that played on local radio stations such as RTL, Eldoradio and DNR. Songs from “Open End” also appeared on two “Best of Luxemburg” music compilations.
The artist’s latest album “No Excuses”, released on October 2nd 2009, blends Chris’s dynamic vocal work with with outstanding guitars and unconventional sounds to churn out a fine collection rock for a new generation of fans.

CATS describe their sound as Lounge Pop, whatever that means. Without aiming towards a specific style, they always leave traces of Bossanova, jazz flute and gospel folk harmonies. Their sound cultivated from the annals of southern culture; a mix of sand and sea governed by the golden state.
Cristobal and the Sea’s live sets vary a lot, sometimes having friends joining in to play any instrument they desire. The atmosphere always remains magically pleasant.

from the “Minett” in the south of Luxembourg.
Corbi (rapping & beats), David Fluit (rapping & cuts) and Dj Lomki aka Jazzy Jeff (live-dj &
cuts), are skillfully, and not without a hint of irony, representing the ways of the “New
School” blended with the mentality from back in the days and come across funky-fresh
with a healthy sense of humor.
Their poetry concerning various subjects, which is made in the “Läb-cave”, is essentially
synthesized in luxembourgish. From politics over everyday life in Luxembourg to more
personal themes, all of the ingredients are being very carefully observed, analyzed and
laid out in Läb-jargon. “De Läb’s“ music is cheering up its listeners but also sending out
some deeper thoughts every now and then.
“De Läb” is a true live-band, dedicated to take their audience in a swing and make them
move. To underline the Live-effect, René “Daiwelskärel” Macri on the bass and Mike
“Blueprint” Zeyer on the drums joined the crew and put some real instruments in the show.
Ever since, they have been roaming the country, invading the smallest pub-bars and
playing on big stage festivals rocking the crowd.
One thing is for sure:
“De Läb” has become an important part of the luxembourgish music-scene and is
constantly surprising their audience with new acoustic massages.

Since the creation in 2009 the band FIONA ON FIRE marks its territory off the beaten tracks with respect to sounds, way of arranging songs and writing lyrics. The songs combine sincere feelings, flaming rage, melancholic thoughts with the explosive energy of alternative rock music – ending up with an extremely intense and unpredictable listening. The songs are meant to turn dark thoughts, worries, hope and passion into words and music. FIONA´s music is to be seen as a mirror for our comfortable “tiny-world” dominated by indifference and double standards – so that all the filthy hushed-up courtyards of our society are coming to light. Most important musical feature is the bass guitar with dominant and sometimes menacing low frequencies which take over a central place within the musical universe of FIONA ON FIRE. Frequently playing a secondary role in other bands and styles this instrument is now by purpose brought into the spotlight of the scene. The guitar-sound being another important “FIONA-brand-recognition” is heavily based beyond the instrument itself on all types of effects, delays, reverbs and spherical ambiance. FIONA constantly follows new ways of sounding and by that offers new and interesting musical food.

Inspired by the sound of rock music history, mostly from the ‘60s and ‘70s, Fox composes classic rock songs intertwined with catchy and melodic pop themes.
Starting out as a solo project for former punk rock guitarist Jimmy Leen, the band now consists of six members and includes drums, bass, acoustic/electric/slide guitar, Hammond/Rhodes keyboards and piano, percussion, plus a mass of rich and warm backing vocals, providing a wide range of sound and arrangement possibilities.
The six members originate from various musical backgrounds, but mostly jazz, rock, and pop, helping to position Fox as a strong and versatile live band able to provide a diverse medley of instruments, sounds and dynamics, a rarity in the current climate of a super-fast consuming music industry.
Imagine a shimmering oasis above a desert road on a hot lazy sunny summer’s day. A light breeze kicks up a swirl of dust as old Chevrolet drives by. That’s where you’ll find Fox music somewhere between modern and classic rock, pop and indie music, and therefore for many it’s a surprise to learn that the guys all hail from Luxembourg.
Rather than playing every concert that came their way, Fox has taken the conscious decision to make themselves a more ‘exclusive’ band and carefully select only the best local show and support slots through the past few years.
Fox is currently in the recording studio completing their debut full-length album due to be released late 2015.

Building on rock roots, Grace blends in elements of pop, blues, folk and americana, creating a mixture as diverse as its members’ heritage.
Grace was founded in 2011, originally just as a way to pass the time during the weekends of dull Luxembourg weather, by Claudia (vocals) and Manuel (guitar and vocals). Bits of inspirations started falling into place and the band began to evolve. In time, and with the arrival of Lutz, Klemen and Luis (lead guitar, bass and drums respectively) the band formed its core of rock and roll and recorded their first four-song demo. Grace are currently focused on playing and increasing their fan base, with plans to have their first full-length recording done within 2015.

The Band started out as a musical pair in 2010: two guitars and one voice.
In the name of their love for melodies they tried to combine the melancholy of folk music with the rhythm and light-heartedness of pop music.
Since then, the musical family has grown and IRINA has become a band of many talents. Their music is energetic, fun and driven my a unique voice. Hopefully their melodies will reach as many people as possible.

Jazz From Hell is a French bass, drum & guitar trio that explores a style at the border between jazz and fusion.
Far from the standards, the temptation to create sound pictures. Jazz From Hell is the unlikely encounter between opposing musical styles: jazz melodies contrasted by the severity of the rock. The Mosellan band alternates between gentle and violence. Born in 2004, the formation of Paul, Jeremie and Cyril continues to set to music the travel diaries of the great masters: Frank Zappa, Eric Serra, Erik Truffaz or Steve Vai.
The first album, “Une vision climatisee de l’enfer” reveals a mixture of sweetness and violence.
Jeremie Grandhaye : Guitar
Cyril Guyot : Drums
Paul Comin : Bass
Jeff Arckley is a band hailing from Arlon in Belgium, consisting of Vincent Soetens on acoustic guitar and Hervé Cornerotte, acoustic guitar and vocals.
The two musicians present an acoustic set with their own original compositions in English. Their songs are oriented towards an acoustic indie pop sound that takes you on a journey between dreams and emotions. The compositions are well suited to intimate venues as well as on a stage.
Hannah Fortenbacher (Guit, Voc)
Toby Urban (Akkordeon, Voc, Beatbox, Piano)
But the time has come to unleash his striking songs on the world and you can’t help be captivated by his soft, delicate and touching voice. Together with a melodic guitar sound, Kevin beckons you into his dreamy music world.
Listening to his own compositions and the covers Kevin performs in his own style, the likes of Ed Sheeran or James Blunt spring to mind and with good reason, as they are both great inspirations and indeed influences to his music.Kevin has already played several gigs in small venues pubs, and at his school, but his special music style was really noticed when auditioning for Luxembourg’s very own Eurovision “Gala Night” 2014.
He made it through to the finals that took place in October where he performed “Me And My Guitar” representing Belgium in front of about 1,000 people. Kevin achieved fourth place out of sixteen candidates!
This is just the start of the road for Kevin Heinen and mesmerising charm that is his music.
The music of the “Kitshickers” is reduced to the essential – an “interesting contrast between sound worlds on many levels, complex arranged songs and minimalistic-intimistic riffs”.
GILLES Heinisch – guitars, vocals, keys & samplings
BORIS Schiertz – guitars & backings
POL Lies – bass
NELSON Curado – drums
Lata kept his baby face and his enthusiasm for making original music despite celebrating 20 years of playing live in 2014. His fans tend to be lovers of Dylan, John Hiatt, Knopfler, Springsteen and Tom Petty, even if he is 30 to 40 years younger than those giants of song. He lives and plays totally disconnected from passing musictrends and probably would not be able to name more than 10 contemporary artists of note. Stuck in the past he is, but he distils it into something current and increasingly relevant for those who look for an old-school singer, songwriter and performer with something real to say and songs that you can relate to once you’ve become an adult.
(This is just a snippet of Lata Gouveia’s bio.

LYLAC is the new solo project conceived by Amaury Massion (MY Tvis DEAD, Attica). In this latest folk adventure, he is accompanied by cello player Thècle Joussaud (Debout sur le Zinc, Oldelaf).
The music is generous and emotional, with a strong emphasis on Amaury’s vocal and lyrical talent, and features songs in both English and French. All the songs are written and composed by Amaury and inspired by his travels to Asia, much like the music of CocoRosie or Devendra Banhart.
The cello lines are a perfect compliment to the vocal melodies that oscillate between smooth and turbulent atmospheres. Despite LYLAC’s delicate songwriting, there is a strong and powerful energy that comes through in the music.

“Mean to you” is a young talented alternative rock/metal band from Luxembourg, with Jerry on the guitar and lead vocals, Mulles on the bass and backing vocals, Philippe on drums and Nicolas on the lead guitar.
A portion of Alter Bridge with a big taste of Mark Tremonti influenced guitar riffs, a dash of Incubus, a cup of Deftones and a final mixture of some metal based bands, takes us to the final recipe of Mean To You. But why mixing all these great bands together to maybe being able to describe the sound of Mean To You instead of going out and listening to it?!
So move along to the “Music” section and get a taste of what Mean To You sounds like!

Moonlight In The Desert was originally founded in 2006 by the singer and songwriter Enzo Guitti, who is also the architect of the catchy sound that sports soul, pop and rock influences. Line-up composed by members of ex-band Treasure chest at the end of the rainbow, Actarus and Metro. It sounds like… an electro approach with analog instruments. Let’s say something between Battles, Maserati and The Redneck Manifesto.
“Mr YaZ is a true musical melting pot mixing black American music of the 70’s and pop, while being up-to-date with more electronic sounds.
Influenced by Jamiroquai, Bernhoft, Prince or Ben Harper it is specifically on stage that the project takes shape.
In fact having already drawn attention as an opening act in France (for example Carmen Maria Vega, Lussi, Higelin, etc …) and in London (The Veils, Bambi, etc …), Mr YaZ attracts just as much of a Francophone public as Anglophone.

It must be said that since 2004, the Luxembourgish band has certainly not taken it easy (10 tours with over 400 concerts , supporting the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, Coheed and Cambria, Portugal the Man or even And so i watch you from afar…) with some highlights along the way such as their recent appearance at the SXSW in Austin, Texas.
Julie Rodesch, David Soppelsa, Fred Brever and Joe May are from Luxembourg, Michael Stein from Germany. They got together as David, Joe and Fred were looking for a singer and a drummer.
All of them share a passion for music and hard work. Even though they already got a lot of experience playing with some major bands, they agreed to start from scratch and create their own music, their strength being the different musical backgrounds.
After a lot of debating and discussing, they eventually agreed on the name “My Own Ghost”, which represents the spirit of the music and the personalities of the different musicians.
At the moment the musicians of My Own Ghost spend a lot of time songwriting and rehearsing, creating songs with dynamic guitar-riffs, powerful electronic tweaks and harmonious melodies.
My Own Ghost is ready to rise to new challenges. After a lot of live experience with other projects, they can’t wait to perform their music.

The Open Seas’ adventure started end 2011 with ALL THESE YEARS’ release. Two 10-year old friends decided to form a new band to explorer a lot more the pop-rock sound & textures, even the old ones. Key word: melody! Greater Region band, Open Seas delivers a pop-rock music mixing sing-along melodies with rock punchy guitars. The band performs acoustic several times. It’s always a good excuse to revisit their own songs.
In 2012, the band played more than 30 shows in Luxembourg, Belgium & France to promote their EP. They decided to shoot a video for the song YOU ARE THE SUN; 1st single and it worked pretty well in local stations. End of the year, the guys participated in a contest,Printemps de Bourges, and went to the final @ Autre Canal in Nancy (France).
Not braking for a little, they decided to record in April 2013 a new Ep, STRONGER and released it in a room plenty of people ready to dance in Luxembourg City. A 10-show tour followed it, so did some tv interviews, live shows broadcasted on TV (RTL) and singles being played in local radios (RTL, ELDORADIO, DNR, RADIO LATINA…)
End of 2013, the band became a trio and decided to refresh their sound. The song I KEEP ON WALKING is there to prove it. February 14 2014!

Scarred is a Death Metal Band from Luxembourg formed in 2003. Initially they started out as a Thrash Metal Project which released an E.P. called “Inner Scars” in 2004. However, through the years and after various line-up changes, they evolved towards a heavier and more brutal sound. In 2009 their first full-length album “New Filth Order” was released. Since then, Scarred has performed alongside many great artists and on major stages such as Wacken Open Air and Metalcamp. Due to many different influences, Scarred’s precise genre is hard to define and should be discovered.
On May 10 2013, Scarred has released their new album entitled “Gaia/Medea” under the banner of Klonosphere / Season of Mist Distribution. This Opus was mixed and mastered by Jochem Jacobs (Textures) at Split Second Sound Studio and features a guest solo by Attila Vörös (Nevermore, Leander Rising).

When meeting singer Christian Huerter and drummer Sebastian Nouvortne for the first time, it is impossible not to notice their incredible enthusiasm for song writing and music. In 2013 the duo named their life’s work Scene Writers.
With a sound best described as pop music with electric and folk elements, they combine atmospherics arrangements with pulsating beats adding synthesizer sounds, acoustic guitars and a rich electric bass.
Chris and Sebastian have many years of friendship behind them and at university they finally came to the decision to make music together. Affected by the prevailing financial crisis, both realised the importance persisting and following their dreams despite sometimes battling against social norms.
By combining their songs with a visual concept, they want to immerse their listeners into their own world. “For us, music is more than just songs. We always wanted the audience to be able to conjure up images in their head. In doing this we have been inspired by films and pictures that had a big influence on us”.
After only 5 months as a duo, Scene Writers played as support act for Joe Cocker on his “Fire it up” tour on an open-air stage, and shared a line-up with the likes of Jennifer Rostock, Prinz Pi, and many others on the main stage of e-Lake, one of Luxembourg’s biggest festivals.

The Seed to Tree sound, especially live, has been compared to an array of acts: Fleet Foxes, Of Monsters and Men, Damien Rice, and even Mumford and Sons. Certainly their music evokes a similar folk-pop-rock passion with mesmerising and sweeping melodies, combined with solid vocal arrangements.
Despite all five members hailing from Luxembourg the music proves mystifying for many listeners unable to pin down just where Seed to Tree in the genre spectrum is rooted, although many do say their tunes purvey a slight Irish slant and feel to them. Added to that, the haunting and thought-provoking lyrics provide an extra dimension to the band’s quality songs.
It’s no wonder those that hear Seed to Tree for the first time become hooked and keep returning for more.

The Surf Cowboys started off as a one off project to record a few songs that had been lying around in the bottom of a draw for a while. After the break up of New Deal, Louis decided to record some of their best songs and added a few of his own.
Initially the first songs were recorded with Marion in Jang Linster’s studio in Frisange with a sequencer, drum machine and some vocals. Then they called …in Danilo and Mario to do the guitars while Louis played bass. Following that a whole bunch of friends turned up to do backing vocals, keyboards and drink lots of beer.
The second batch of songs were recorded at Klaus Gehlhaar’s One World Studio in Schifflange and the whole thing was mastered in Brussels and then the first Surf Cowboys CD was finished.
Louis asked his friend Michel Geimer to design the cover and it was then decided that any profits from the CD would go to the AIDS assistance of the Luxembourg Red Cross.
“Put the peanuts in the pussy” was released in March 1993 and was an instant success. The singles “not the way”, “nowhere to go” and “surf rap” all got massive airplay on the local radio stations and the phone did not stop ringing from people asking for the Surf Cowboys to play live.
The only problem was that there was no real band, so Louis called up all his friends who played on the album and the first line up of Surf Cowboys was created.
The first major gig was the RUK 1994 where the band played last at midnight and blew an unsuspecting public away. The following day CD sales went through the roof and the band immediately started on the follow up CD “New surf same deal”.
The CD was recorded over two months in Schifflange and produced two number one singles “Believe it or not” and “Crazy”.
The Surf Cowboys opened for many international bands including Toto, Deep Purple, Santana, Status Quo and Fish.
The band has re-formed in 2013 and are currently rehearsing and recording some new songs for a May release followed by many concerts in June & July 2014

for their style the band, due to diverse influences from rock, indie, electro and classical music makes them very difficult to classify. However the result is a symbiosis of modern rock elements and synthesizer sounds.

The Neverminds constantly push the boundaries of their musical identity, taking you from catchy pop-rock tunes to rhythmic alternative sounds, as well as from touching ballads to hard rock. You think, that’s too much? The Neverminds will prove you wrong!
Formed in spring 2011, the band slowly grew together, with musicians that could not be more different, setting the foundations of a charismatic, edgy formation.
After delicate discussion in spring 2013, The Neverminds decided to push themselves to new limits, by a concept that could not fit any more to their initially punk/rock image. They took a summer break and are now back with a new concept, a new style and new motivation. Not shy to fight for an own place in Luxembourg’s music scene, the 5 musicians decided to enter the serious business with a splash in music scene, cooperating with a musician who could not be further away from rock scene: Luxembourgish rapper Maka Mc. His feature will be on the first single in fall 2013.
With a whole new setlist, good lyrics and a special live performance, The Neverminds await you!

Velvet Vertigo is a young band, formed in late 2010 although the current line up has been together since March 2011. A bit of mix of 80’s Indie/ Post-Punk and a bit of Britpop and Psychedelia might come to your ears while listening them but again it is really hard to label their music. For the past few years they have played numerous amount of concerts all over Luxembourg, including the support for a Canadian band called “Islands”. They also released a EP the 25th of May and their reputation has grown every sine so you better keep your eyes and ears wide open for this very talented young four-piece!
